Meghan Markle to attend Met Gala after stepping down as a royal

Prince Harry attended the Travalyst sustainable tourism summit in Edinburgh, Scotland, today, the first of the last remaining royal obligations for the duke before he and Duchess Meghan transition to post-royal life.

Markle, 38, has been invited by British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful to rub shoulders with the big names who flock to the annual fashion bash, according to The Sun.

Meghan is set to attend the Met Gala, marking her return to the Hollywood scene.

The Met 2020 Gala will have the theme "About time: fashion and duration", as it celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY.

"The Met Gala is for the Who's Who of show business", a source told the outlet.

Prince Harry and Meghan already have agreed to stop using their royal titles as His and Her Royal Highness, avoid using state funding and returned the Sovereign Grant that was given to them for renovations of their official residence.

The event raises funds every year for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with guests adopting elaborate, out-of-this-world outfits.

The couple plan on living in North America and pursuing commercial careers, now living in a mansion worth millions on Vancouver Island.
