In an interesting concept that is simply not followed by any other professional sport in North America, in the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (better known as NASCAR), the biggest race of the year takes place at the beginning of their season rather than the end.

Who could forget the 2001 Daytona 500, when superstar Dale Earnhardt Sr. passed away in a three vehicle crash near the end of the race. Bowman started in the pole position previous year as well and ended up two spots ahead of Steinhouse 11th place.

Logano, Hamlin, Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr. and defending season champion Kyle Busch are the co-favorites to win the Daytona 500 at 10/1 odds, per William Hill.

Troy Ruttman, Mooreland: Until Bell joins him on Sunday afternoon, Ruttman will stand alone as the only Oklahoman to race in the Daytona 500, one of his seven career Cup races in 1962-64.

President George W. Bush greeted drivers in the pit at Daytona 500 NASCAR race in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 2004. Austin Dillon who won in 2018 is also in the lineup but he doesn't seem to be a favorite as his odds to win are now 40 to 1.

NASCAR fans in the USA will have plenty of options to watch the 2020 Daytona 500 but the easiest way to do so is on television.

Can I buy tickets to the Daytona 500?

The Daytona 500 will be broadcast live on FOX and streamed through Fox Sports Go. Ruttman had five top-10 finishes in those races, once finishing as high as third. Get a one-week free trial when you sign up. The first month costs $15.

Trump, who was endorsed in 2016 by former NASCAR CEO Brian France Jr., has hosted series champions Joey Logano and Martin Truex The White House and gave NASCAR team owner Roger Penske the Presidential Medal of Freedom a year ago. The network will show the 2020 Daytona 500 on TSN1, TSN3 and TSN 4 starting at 2 p.m.
