While Cracking Smart took the honors for Gigginstown House Stud and coach Gordon Elliott, Tiger Roll ran with real enthusiasm for much of the way as he prepares to bet on a fifth victory at the Cheltenham Festival and the third successive Randox Health Grand National.

The Gordon Elliott-trained 10-year-old will make his seasonal reappearance in Sunday's Boyne Hurdle before aiming to become a five-time Cheltenham victor in the Glenfarclas Chase next month.

Victor of this race 12 months back, Tiger Roll just shed 4th location close home, having leapt well as well as took a trip well after being stood up in the back via the very early component of the two-mile five-furlong competition.

"He'll go to Navan this weekend for the Boyne Hurdle that he won previous year, he badly wants a run (after his setback)", said Eddie O'Leary.

Red Rum is the only horse to have landed the world's greatest steeplechase on three occasions (1973/'74 and '77) but Tiger Roll can better that on April 4 should he win three Grand Nationals in succession.

Tiger Roll was allotted joint top-weight in the Aintree marathon, off a rating 11lb more than previous year.

The Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham, which the horse also won past year, is believed to be next on the agenda after Navan.
