This is apparently a Pixel 5 prototype - and it sure is something

Google is expected to finalize the design of Pixel 5 XL in about two months. But getting a prototype render eight months in advance is a new record, even for the Pixel series. Honestly, it's one of the worst designs that we've seen lately.

What you're looking at above is a prototype of the Pixel 5 XL that Google has apparently created, and according to Front Page Tech, it's one of three designs the company is working on.

Also, you can see in the close-up of the Pixel 5 XL's camera module, Google will probably take into account the feedback (read backlash) from users, as well as media, and include an ultra-wide-angle camera into its next flagship. Moreover, for the first time ever, the Pixel lineup will get a third camera sensor.

Jon says that the Pixel 5 XL has three prototype models in development. The other two have been reported to include a rectangular camera bump, in line with other recent flagship phones or Pixel 4 from past year.

However, there's some good news.

The device in the image dons a similar matte-glass texture to some Pixel 4 colors and incorporates a very large triple-lens module, including a wide-angle shooter, that juts down from the top of the back of the handset. It's one of the big letdowns in the last year's Pixel 4 devices.

This means you will get a soft-touch back panel with a glossy camera module, which will reportedly be a U-shaped module with three camera sensors. Unfortunately, we don't know that. The new design is somewhat unique in comparison to everything we have in the industry.

So, this was our first look at the Pixel 5 XL.
