The Batman director Matt Reeves has just unveiled the first glimpse at Batman's new suit for the upcoming movie, and it offers a taste of how our hero will appear when he's brooding above the streets of Gotham.

The Batman opens in theaters on June 25, 2021.

The Batman marks Pattinson's first time as the Caped Crusader as he takes over for Ben Affleck, who previously donned the cape and cowl in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League. According to The Wrap, insiders say the film will follow Wayne's second year as the Dark Knight. Pattinson has reiterated that this version of Batman will not resemble Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy, or Michael Keaton in Tim Burton's "Batman" and "Batman Returns".

The Batman will be Reeves (and co-writer Mattson Tomlin) take on the iconic DC character, though the plot is mostly a mystery for now (if they keep to the idea of Bats as a detective, it should be a mystery anyway but. yeah, we'll stop).
