Renault must target taking back fourth in the championship from McLaren, according to boss Cyril Abiteboul, without compromising its long-term Formula 1 programme.

"2020 is a significant year in a number of ways. However, we also need to regain confidence and reinforce team spirit to get the best from everyone, and to maximise our chances each race weekend".

"I have every faith in the teams across Enstone and Viry to challenge once more for fourth in the Constructors' Championship this year, plus ensure the coming era is anticipated successfully for both the team and Renault brand".

"2020 is also an important transition year for the team", said Stoll.

"We have all the reasons to believe it offers much more potential than the vehicle we had previous year", he said.

Despite his busy year with Mercedes, Ocon fully believes he can return at a higher level than before, and he's been doing enough training for it.

"More specifically, last season enabled us to take stock of our strengths and weaknesses at the end of our initial construction period and to take appropriate action".

This year's vehicle is described as an evolution of last year's RS19 racer, and while it's only wearing a temporary matte grey test livery, we know what to expect in terms of final colors since both drivers were wearing them during this media event (see gallery below).

"The organisational changes made in the second half of 2019 are with this firmly in mind".

Despite this, Ocon said he is "definitely" arriving into the new season the strongest he's ever been. "It will give us a boost this year".

Renault recruit Esteban Ocon says he was allowed by former employer Mercedes to carry over a limited amount of "secrets" when he moved to the French outfit at the end of past year.

"I'm looking forward to blending into the team better on the back of having a full season behind us", he said.

"We hope the drivers' titles are just around the corner soon, but it is still too early, at least on this project", said Ricciardo, who is competing in his tenth season of F1.

Ahead of his return to a full-time race role, Ocon admitted the past year had taken a lot of out of him.

"I had an eye on all of that, which is completely different than even if I was driving, you know?" Daniel has a year of experience with the team and can see its motivation. "We want great results for the team, and we need to bring the best out from each other all while staying within the limits".

"F1 needs everyone at the top of their game and having two drivers spurring everyone on is an huge motivation tool for the entire team and a source of pride for the whole of Groupe Renault".
