Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Odion Ighalo will be included in Manchester United's squad to face Chelsea next Monday.

Ighalo is yet to meet his new United team-mates, with Solskjaer's squad now undertaking a warm weather training camp in Malaga.

There have been some concerns over the former Watford man's fitness after some inactivity in China but he has since posted regular updates of him hard at work in the gym.

Now eighth in the Premier League table, six points adrift the top four and facing a huge game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Monday in the battle for Champions League qualification, United are under growing pressure to finish the season strongly ahead of a pivotal summer.

Ighalo is on a tailored programme to get him quickly up to speed at United, following his transfer deadline day loan switch from Shanghai Shenhua.

"He left Premier League for China, but he is now back to England and will give his all for United".

The United main squad now remain in Malaga, where the Red Devils were handed a boost after Scott McTominay was deemed fit enough to join in the action.

"He is desperate to play, and we want to integrate him as fast as possible".

"Our recruitment process focuses on the analysis and selection of players over the course of a season, with a view to the next summer transfer window".

Manchester United are in seventh position in the Premier League table and six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

"He got Premier League experience from his time at Watford, and he did well at Vicarage Road".

"Although progress may not always be smooth, everyone in the club is focused and committed to doing their part to help achieve those goals".

"Similarly, there has been extensive work on our recruitment process, with considerable investment in scouting, data and analytics".

"However, as a club and board, we recognize that we are not yet where we want to be. As part of the reconstruction, we see this summer as an important opportunity". The recruitment department is working to a clear plan and philosophy, along with Ole and his coaching staff.

Dalot hopes United - who visit Chelsea on February 17 - can push for a top-four finish and win silverware this season.
