Jennifer Hudson to take part in All-Star tribute for Kobe Bryant

The league also announced that Jennifer Hudson will perform prior to player introductions, as she will do a tribute to Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant, and the seven others that tragically died in a helicopter crash last month. Additional details weren't made available, and the nature of Hudson's tribute is seemingly being kept under wraps. Chicagoan and 10-time Grammy victor Chaka Khan will sing the national anthem and country music singer-songwriter Tenille Arts will sing the Canadian anthem before tipoff.

The final moments of this year's NBA All-Star Game will likely have drama and multiple drives to the basket.

The All-Star Game will begin at 8 PM EST (five o'clock in the west) on Sunday, February 16th.

. The public memorial for Kobe will take place on Monday, February 24., at the Staples Center, which is home to Los Angeles Lakers, the team where Kobe played throughout his National Basketball Association career.

An episode of Inside the National Basketball Association will be filmed live in Chicago tonight; the show will feature Charles Barkley and Shaq, among others. Chicago natives Common and Chance the Rapper will, respectively, perform before the game and at halftime of Sunday's All-Star Game (along with captaining the Celebrity Game teams), while Taylor Bennett, Chance's brother, will do the halftime show of Friday's Rising Stars game.

On Saturday, Queen Latifah and a group of Chicago children will perform Stevie Wonder's "Love's in Need of Love Today".

On Friday, Feb. 14, the Chicago Children's Choir will sing the US national anthem in advance of NBA Rising Stars, which begins at 9 p.m. ET on TNT. Bryant died tragically January 26 after a helicopter accident that also claimed the life of his daughter Gianna and seven other victims.
