Defective Coronavirus Testing Kits Shipped Across US — CDC

To date, a total of eight coronavirus cases have been documented in California, accounting for more than half of the 14 infections confirmed across the United States, none of them fatal. These kits could potentially avoid the delays that happen when labs have to send their samples to the CDC for testing, she said.

All five evacuees hospitalized with possible coronavirus symptoms after landing at Travis Air Force Base last week have tested negative for the deadly illness, Solano County health officials said Wednesday. Currently, a three-member advance team from the WHO is in Beijing to meet with Chinese health officials and flesh out details of the joint mission.

For now, states will continue to send all of their COVID-19 clinical specimens to the CDC for testing. The death toll on the mainland rose to 1,113. "They have been watched more closely than anyone else in the United States".

There are also new questions about how long it can take for the virus to show up.

Both the US and Singapore Post said in notes to their global counterparts that they are no longer accepting items destined for China, "until sufficient transport capacity becomes available". None were infected with the virus.

In all, Japan has 247 confirmed cases of the new virus that apparently started in Wuhan.

On Feb 7 following a conversation with China's president about the outbreak, President Donald Trump tweeted that as the weather becomes warmer the virus will become weaker and die out.

Other big names that have already dropped out include Ericsson, Nokia, Sony, Amazon, Intel and LG.

"The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is our top priority".

Russian health authorities haven't commented on their complaints.

It has recorded 60,063 confirmed cases and says 5,680 persons have recovered from the coronavirus.

On Wednesday, Hong Kong reported its 41st to 50th confirmed cases of Covid-19.

The CDC is now sending all states a new supply of the ingredient linked to the flawed kits, regardless if they have reported issues with the kits or not.

But the flaw was actually discovered, C.D.C. officials said, before the kits had been shipped overseas.
