Cricket Australia Announce Full Squad For Bushfire Bash

Tendulkar, Test Cricket's leading runscorer, and Lara, who finished seventh on the list of runscores, are arguably the biggest names in the game that raises money for the Australian Red Cross's Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the 22 man squad for the charity game - Bushfire Bash.

Brian Lara will feature in the Bushfire relief match on February 8, Cricket Australia have confirmed. This welfare game will be played for the victims of the widespread bushfire that recently affected a major part of Australia including its capital - Canberra.

The full squads have been confirmed for the upcoming Bushfire Bash cricket match, with a host of cricketing legends, as well as other sporting champs set to take part.

India's great batsman Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies great bowler Courtney Walsh will be the coach of star equipped Ricky Ponting XI and Shane Warne XI.

"We can't wait to see Lara out on the SCG with the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Shane Warne, Grace Harris, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Mike Hussey, Matthew Hayden and Ellyse Villani", he added.

Australian legends Andrew Symonds, Brad Haddin, Mike Hussey, Michael Clarke, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee and Matthew Hayden will also play alongside incumbent female players Elyse Villani, Grace Harris and Phoebe Litchfield.

"The exhibition match will be a 10-overs-per-side contest, with a five-over Powerplay, no bowling restrictions, and batters unable to get out from the first ball they face".

Meanwhile, Steve Waugh and Mel Jones will also take part in a non-playing capacity, as will rugby league Immortal Andrew "Joey" Johns. The captains will be allowed to substitute batsmen in the middle of the innings.
