The Irishman is now focusing on his first UFC fight since 2018, when he faces Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas on Sunday morning. This time, fans may have thought they were dreaming while watching the UFC 246 Press Conference.

McGregor's Mystic Mac persona came from him accurately predicting how he would finish fights and then would go on to finish them as he predicted. He squares off with Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in a five-round welterweight headliner.

The 31-year-old was arrested in the tenth round, but says he is eager for the chance to avenge that defeat. "I am who I am and I've always been ... granted different opponent, different circumstances".

When all was said and done, McGregor and Cerrone squared off for an intense staredown before exiting the stage. We've had a good back-and-forth, myself and Donald. He also expressed his utmost gratitude for fighting back in the United States despite his previous controversies. "Although there will be blood spilled on January 18th, it will not be bad blood", said the two-division champion.

"I'm going five rounds with this dude and I can not wait til Saturday night". "Conor's one of the last dying breeds of the last fighters, so it's good to be in there with him and really get in there and f-- give it all we got".

But McGregor (21-4) predicted a knockout victory, although he spoke of his respect for Cerrone.

So perhaps, these scenes from "The Notorious" is a thing of the past.

Before McGregor's comments, the boxing and MMA reporter at Yahoo Sports, Kevin Iole, posted a mock fight poster of McGregor and Pacquiao on Twitter.
