Senator Bernie Sanders is leading in most New Hampshire polls a week ahead of the state's primary. "But I have committed to support the Democratic candidate because I find (President Donald) Trump so unsuited for the job". "And I would hope that everybody would do so if Bernie is the nominee as well".

Bloomberg noted Sanders is "so far to the left it's not practical".

"I think we are in quite good shape".

Ocasio-Cortez previously said last year that it would not be "pragmatic" for Democrats to choose former vice president Joe Biden as the nominee, arguing that picking the "perfect" and "logically fitting candidate" will not inspire turnout. "The moment you start playing games trying to deny whoever is the nominee, we really start to get into risky territory in terms of defeating Trump". "I think we now have an excellent chance to win the Democratic nomination and defeat the most unsafe president in the modern history of this country". "The vast majority of Democrats and the nation do not believe in socialism". Bernie Sanders a "communist" in an interview that aired Sunday.

"We as a party, to win Arizona, to win Wisconsin, to win in MI and Pennsylvania, and to be viable in North Carolina, need a candidate who moves those swing moderate voters", Emanuel said.

Monday marks the country's first caucuses in Iowa, where Sanders now leads his 2020 rivals.
