The six episode series follows the team at Navarro College from Corsicana, Texas as they prepare for the National Championships at the cheerleading-Mecca, Daytona Beach. Coach Monica also talked about the aspects of her team that you didn't see on screen.

"These are like my kids", she said.

And don't worry, Jerry is still on the Navarro squad for the 2020 season, also cheering for the world champion Wildcats from Cheer Athletics after being awarded a $10,000 scholarship to study at the University of Louisville, posting a photo of himself in a Louisville cheer uniform in the fall of 2019.

When the excitement subsided, Gabi Butler, an Instagram and cheer star in her own right, updated viewers on her fraught relationship with her parents.

She then further detailed the backlash with DeGeneres. "We all watched it together as a family, and we were like, 'Oh, wow, '" she told DeGeneres. Gabi explained that Cheer helped her parents realize that they "need to let her be more independent" and enabled her to "love herself more". "I'm really passionate about it and I want to protect them through anything". She added, "I'm very grateful for the show". "They come to me with their problems".

The athletes then visited the Netflix Headquarters in Los Angeles, California, after appearing on the talk show, with team members like Morgan Simianer and Butler sharing snaps showing off the stunning view. 'All I can say is I'm so thankful and grateful for all of these fantastic opportunities and all the great people I have met and I couldn't do it without you all behind me'.

'First we went on Ellen and now we're at Netflix headquarters.this doesn't even feel real, ' Butler wrote in an Instagram caption.

Cheer on Netflix is a new documentary by the makers of the streaming giant's mega popular, Last Chance U.
