Tetris is taking the place of a trio of Tetris mobile apps from Electronic Arts, all of which are planned to shut down on April 21, 2020.

As spotted by Android Police, both Tetris 2011 and Tetris Blitz are being shuttered, with the games having also been pulled from Google Play.

Hello Fans, We have had an awesome journey with you so far but sadly, it is time to say goodbye. Existing users should be able to continue playing the games until they expire in April. "As of April 21, 2020, Tetris will be retired, and will no longer be available to play".

EA has confirmed that it is ending support for Tetris across iOS.

There's lots of uncertainty surrounding the reason. Does it plan to release a new version stuffed full of annoying ads and in-app purchases? But come April 21, both of EA's Tetris games will simply stop working.

Unlike EA's game with multiple modes and options, the new version has just one classic mode with a few themes to change up the look of the game.

We've reached out to the Tetris Company and EA for more information and will update when we hear back. Now that N3TWORK and The Tetris Company's free-to-play Tetris game has arrived on Android and Apple iOS devices.

If you're anything like me, Tetris has been one of your go-to time wasters since you were a child.
