Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant played matchmakers to their mother and father, respectively.

The idea to set up their parents first came about last December when the two actors did a joint interview with Mashable and discussed Matthew's holiday plans with his mother who the family adorably call Kmack. Grant asked, referencing his dad, James Grant. "And then her second man of 19 years just moved on two years ago, so she's single and vital". The two stars of "The Gentlemen" laughed off the moment, but they recently gave an update on the situation to Entertainment Tonight and it seems the duo's parents may actually be getting together.

Grant added, "We did set them up, it's gonna be red hot".

"His father's 91, my mother's 88".

Actors Matthew McConaughey, left, and Hugh Grant pose together during photo call for the film "The Gentlemen" at The Whitby Hotel on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, in NY. "Next week, they are supposed to meet, and we probably won't see them for the rest of the night", Matthew McConaughey told "Entertainment Tonight".

The actors' new movie, "The Gentlemen", explores London's seedy underbelly, with McConaughey playing Mickey Pearson, an American who has made a fortune selling cannabis in the U.K. But now the sharks are circling and Mickey has to fight off anyone and everyone who's trying to swindle him or take over his business.
