A man traveling through Portland International Airport apparently had a layover long enough that he made a decision to play some video games.

"I couldn't believe it. You've got all these monitors there, and he's playing a video game", told CNN Stefan Diez, another passenger who tweeted about the incident. The gamer even appeared to be talking on a headset to other players, according to Dietz.

The monitor typically displays a map of the airport, assisting travelers with the locations of restaurants and bathrooms.

Speaking to local radio station KXL, Port of Portland spokesperson Kama Simonds wanted to make it clear that this is not an okay thing to do. The man chose to jump into a game of Apex Legends, risking his luck both in-game and in real-life with authorities.

The airport security "very kindly" asked the man to unplug his PS4 console from the monitor so that the monitor could serve its real goal. They received an answer they weren't quite expecting.

Operations supervisors approached the gamer, Simonds said, "and very kindly asked this person to unplug and cease using the monitors at the airport".

The airport officials said no, so it was game over for the passenger, who complied. "That is obviously something that we don't want to have happened, because travelers need the information that we are putting on the screens for them", she said.
