Coach Alain Vigneault said he only climbed the ice a few minutes after the start of training when Hart got out. The Flyers answered back for second period tallies by Tyler Pitlick and Michael Raffl.

Jordan Binnington will be in goal for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.

They gave the Capitals, Lightning and Bruins a combined 11 power play opportunities and killed 10 of them. How often do we see the team that won the President's Trophy for the best regular season record fall in the early rounds of the playoffs, and how often do we see teams come out of nowhere to go on and win it all? "When they bring this kind of game in the playoffs I see why they won previous year".

Faulk's power-play goal, a one-timer off a flawless feed from Steen, gave the Blues a 1-0 lead with 5:36 left in the first period. The team that goes all the way and wins it plays a whole lot more games than most and does not get the benefit of resting over an extended period in the offseason. Is St. Louis a safe play on the puckline for bettors? The result was a gaping passing lane for Alex Steen to feed an open Justin Faulk for the game's first goal at 14:24 of the first period. The Flyers have also not had a ton of success when playing against teams from the Western Conference, posting a 6-11-2 record in those outings.

At 12:43, Pitlick scored on a wraparound attempt that bounced in off David Perron.

The Blues have been very good all season long, but they are particularly hot right now, coming into this game having won 4 in a row and 7 of their last 10.

"It's just a different vibe, a different feeling in the locker room", Raffl said.

The Flyers stepped up special teams in the game, killing 5 of 6 Blues' power plays including a lengthy 5-on-3 in the third period. Konecny capitalized on a slick no-look pass by James van Riemsdyk. However, the pick here is the game's final play: a well-orchestrated rush by Ivan Provororv (who had a monster game all around) and a flawless finish by Voracek.

If Hart misses two weeks, he'll only miss four games. "Everybody had a good game". They had six power plays.

NOTES: The Blues activated D Carl Gunnarsson (upper body) from the injured reserve and placed D Colton Parayko (upper body) on the injured reserve, retroactive to January 2. The Blues are 21-0-6 this season when scoring first, the only team in the National Hockey League without a regulation loss in that scenario.

Lyon was recalled under emergency conditions for Wednesday night's game with Joel Farabee being sent to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Chris Stewart being placed on waivers.
