Sam Springsteen -- Bruce's son -- is now a firefighter in New Jersey

The Boss's fearless son is officially ready to go fight fires in New Jersey.

Bruce Springsteen and wife Patti Scialfa looked on proudly as their 26-year-old son Sam was invested into Jersey City's Fire Department on Tuesday.

The son of New Jersey rock legend Bruce Springsteen is now a full-fledged Jersey City firefighter after being sworn in with 14 other plebes Tuesday by Fire Chief Steven McGill.

And the Boss and his leading lady, Patti Scialfa, had front-row seats for the big moment.

'We're very proud, ' Bruce told reporters at the ceremony. 'We're just excited for him today'.

Jersey City officials said it was the fire department's 10th class since Fulop, 42. took office.

Sam's mom broke the news last summer when his she posted on her Instagram "you followed your dreams". She told her son to "stay safe" and "love your fearless heart!"

Fulop posted pictures on his Twitter account and said that he got to spend some time with Bruce Springsteen and Scialfa, calling them "nice people".

The youngest of Bruce and singer-songwriter Patti Scialfa's three children had been a member of the Colts Neck Fire Department close to his folks' home.
