Salma Hayek elated over Antonio Banderas Oscar nomination

The much loved Malaga-born Antonio Banderas has been nominated for Best Actor for his leading role in the gritty adaptation of "Dolor y Gloria" which translates to "Pain and Glory".

Pain and Glory was also nominated by the Academy for best worldwide feature film.

It's his first ever Oscar nomination, but he faces stiff competition in the Best Actor category from Leonardo Di Caprio (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), Adam Driver (Marriage Story), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes).

The list of nominees for the 92nd edition of the Oscars, which will take place on February 9 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, was recently released.
