Spurs Edge Raptors in Toronto

DeMar DeRozan was again warmly welcomed in Toronto and then helped San Antonio beat the Raptors.

Four other San Antonio players scored in double figures to propel the team to victory.

The Raptors led the way most of the night and, in the midst of an entertaining third quarter, paved an 18-point advantage in which Kyle Lowry and Derrick White got out of the fight and competed for a loose ball. DeRozan also collected eight rebounds and four assists while topping 20 points for the 11th straight game.

"It was huge", White said of DeRozan. "Creating for us, scoring, doing just about everything". He played big pieces on the track. They were then able to limit their lead with two free throws from DeRozan.

Lowry replied with a deep 3, cutting the deficit to one, and Aldridge missed a pair of free throws with four seconds left, but Siakam's long 3-pointer bounced off the backboard at the buzzer. He made the resulting free throw to cut the Raptors' advantage to 15 points.

It took until 1:25 in the first half to score on Sunday.

DeRozan had just played spoiler in Siakam's return from injury - and exacted a bit of revenge against his old team.

Raptors fans gave DeRozan a standing ovation during a tribute video on Sunday evening. They became more aggressive. It never gets old.

Spurs: Playing in Toronto as a visitor for only the second time, DeRozan received loud applause when he was introduced before the game.

This time there were no mistakes in the last few moments.

"I played against him this summer and I didn't know who he was", DeRozan said of Boucher.

Serge Ibaka had 21 points and 14 rebounds in defeat.

Toronto is 4-6 as a series of five wins ended in defeat in IN on December 23. This was the 2nd time the Raptors blew a double-digit lead in the last component of the suit.

"He's a great teammate, man", Aldridge said.
