The news makes the 18-year-old singer officially the youngest person to record a Bond theme.

Billie Eilish will co-write and perform the title song of the next James Bond film, No Time to Die. That puts her in some pretty impressive company, as Sam Smith, Adele, and a duet between Jack White and Alicia Keys all contributed to previous installments of the series.

"We are excited to announce that Billie and FINNEAS have written an incredibly powerful and moving song for "No Time To Die", which has been impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film", say Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

"It feels insane to be a part of this in every way", said the star, who called the assignment "a huge honour". Either that or Billie Eilish is just winding her followers up but she wouldn't do that to us surely?

Rumors have been swirling of Billie Eilish singing the No Time to Die theme song for a little while now, but they felt more like fans putting a wish out into the world than substantial reports.

Eilish confirmed on social media Tuesday that she has written and will perform the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film.

Eilish has made huge waves as an artist since the debut of her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? back in March of 2019.

The pic releases on April 10 in North America via United Artists Releasing banner, with Universal Pictures International launching in the UK and select international territories on April 2.
