Currently, India men's team is hosting Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series.

Last month, Rahul put up scores of 62,11 and 91 in the T20Is against West Indies, and 6, 102 and 77 in the ODIs and extended his fine form with 45 and 54 in India's 2-0 win over Sri Lanka. He registered a 97-run opening stand with KL Rahul, who also notched up his ninth T20I fifty.

Praising Dhawan for getting back the groove, Kohli stated that he is against the idea of people pitting the pair (Dhawan and Rahul) against each other as a possible partner for Rohit Sharma in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. "Top three are scoring heavily, so that's a good problem to have, but we have enough options and don't see any issues with that", he added. Rohit Sharma had a terrific 2019. I am also in the picture now and I too Well done (laughs). It's building up well.

He said, "I don't think about the competition because it's not in my hands". The team-management faces a huge dilemma as they will have to choose one between Shikhar Dhawan and in-form KL Rahul. I am happy with the fact that I could express myself in both opportunities I got. "Rest of the things are in the hands of the coaches and the captain", said Shikhar Dhawan after the match.

"All three openers are pretty strong players, and it's great to have players playing well in the team. It gives you a lot of confidence".

"And last game was quite normal and before that I was not in the team, so I didn't watch matches as well and I didn't knew what was happening".

Virat Kohli recently stated that he will not pit the openers against each other but considering the series against Australia and Rathour echoes his thoughts.

The first ODI is slated to be played on January 14 in Mumbai, while the second one will be hosted by Rajkot on January 17, while the third encounter between the two sides will be played on January 19 in Bengaluru.
