"New decade means new games and we're looking at a great start with tons of unbelievable titles coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store in 2020", Epic said.

Epic does not plan to change its aggressive plans to increase the Epic Games Store's market share.

While much of that total can be accounted for by Epic's own hit Fortnite, the company noted that $251 million has been spent by players on third-party PC games.

While we don't have any particularly up-to-date figures for Steam, we do know that in January previous year it reported having 90m monthly users.

It's worth pointing out that that figure appears to be gross revenue rather than profit, but it's being generated by an impressive proportion of Epic's users.

Although Epic isn't releasing specific stats for its most popular games, the top nine include World War Z, Satisfactory, Dauntless, Metro Exodus, Untitled Goose Game, The Outer Worlds, Borderlands 3, The Division 2 and Dauntess.

I think it's interesting that Epic is rolling into 2020 with an emphasis on EGS exclusives.

"Epic Games Store third-party game revenue in 2019 is roughly 60% higher than our initial forecast at launch, and the pace of free game installs is several times higher than we originally expected", he told Gamedaily. This will of course also be buoyed by the continued strategy of exclusivity that Epic has been using for a while now.

Ultimately, this announcement means that the Epic Games Store is doing just fine, guys.
