At least 4 dead in Czech hospital shooting

An alleged gunman is on the loose after killing six people and injuring two in a shooting at a hospital in eastern Czech Republic.

She added the suspect remained at large, with police asking the public for help. Czech TV reported that he was about 180 centimetres (5.9 feet) tall.

Police said on Twitter they were still searching for the assailant and posted a picture of a suspect without giving a name. "Unfortunately, the attack claimed several lives", said Interior Minister Jan Hamacek, reported Ceska Televize.

A gunman has shot at least seven people as he entered the hospital in Ostrava Poruba at just after 7am this morning.

The shooting happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday at University hospital in the city of Ostrava, located 220 milest east of Prague.

'There are four dead and two seriously injured people on the site, ' regional police spokeswoman Pavla Jirouskova told the public Czech Television.
