The Pixel 4 will automatically screen robocalls using Call Screen.

Just a few days after we covered some possible upcoming features for the Pixel phones thanks to a teardown of the Pixel Tips app, Google officially introduced them as part of the first "Pixel feature drop". Yes, this works for photos that you took years ago. The feature will silently filter out junk calls. Photos and your Pixel believe they are smart enough to find edges in a photo and give a natural level of blurring to the background (you can adjust this too), even to your oldest photos.

The Pixel 4 gets some key Duo improvements, as well, including auto framing, which keeps one or two people centered The feature appears to look similar to the more sophisticated versions found on the Nest Home Max (and Facebook's Portal before it), zooming in and out to get people in frame. Even when you forgot to take the photo on portrait mode, you can use this feature to add blur in Google Photos.

Google now offers faster accuracy in Google Maps with improved on-device computing for much better location quality.

Google enhanced memory management across all supported generations of Pixel phones with this update. With this new update, your Pixel proactively compresses cached applications so that you can run multiple apps at the same time.

Pixel 3 and 3a users will get Live Caption.

Flip to Shhh will also join the Digital Wellbeing features on Pixel 2 and 2XL.

Google announced that its Pixel phones are getting the first ever "Pixel feature drop" this week, which is mostly Google saying that a batch of new features are coming to your phone.
