The Browns can't even win without some kind of theatrics.

Mayfield exited Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers minutes before halftime with a bruised hand, though he returned to finish the contest.

Coach Freddie Kitchens earlier said Mayfield would not be limited.

But as has been the case throughout this season of great expectations, the Browns couldn't avoid being dragged into more needless distractions.

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield's right hand still isn't right. The Browns won 27-19. Beckham is already split wide left of the huddle, talking to Bengals cornerback William Jackson III.

Beckham hasn't missed a game this season, but he's been listed on the injury report every week - first with a hip injury, and since Week 8, with a groin injury.

"He is not able to run as well as he should be able to as well as he knows", Mayfield said, per

Following the game, Beckham had little to say about either subject. "It's the same thing that's going on, not anything that I can't handle".

Beckham spoke softly in front of his locker before leaving FirstEnergy Stadium with his head covered by a hooded blue jacket.

While the Browns are in the midst of a run towards the playoffs down the stretch for the first time in years, much of the media attention in Cleveland will be around Beckham's future in the city. He had just two catches for 39 yards. Robinson's return should help a line that struggled to protect Mayfield.

The last several days with Odell Beckham terms of his relationship to the Cleveland Browns has been an adventure. "His not 100 percent is still good enough for us". "I think it could have been addressed earlier on". It was not handled the right way in our training room.

Later, Mayfield attempted to clarify his remarks on Twitter. "No I don't know all the facts about Odell's injury". "Right now the focus is to win, 1-0, and that's what we did today".

The Browns (5-7) need to win their final four games and along with some outside help to end the NFL's longest post-season drought.
