Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Movie Gets A Title And A Poster

Given that Callie doesn't know who her father is and the movie's about a family of ghost, well, busters, it stands to reason that her coming into the original Ghostbusters' gear is anything but a coincidence.

Paul Rudd in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Ghostbusters: Afterlife continues the story from the original two Ghostbusters film, with new characters discovering the old characters' busting equipment just as a new supernatural threat to emerges.

Directed and co-written by Jason Reitman, son of the original Ghostbuster's director, Ivan Reitman, the film stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolhard and McKenna Grace. It seems odd that they're all sort of dancing around the obvious here: Clearly these are the surviving family members of Egon, played by the late Harold Ramis - right?

In it, we will nearly certainly get our first looks at Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard, while fans will also be dreaming that the original Ghostbusters cast, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, will pop up, too.

At Calgary International Film Festival, the director said: "I want to make my dad proud and I want him to be proud of this film".

Ghostbusters: Afterlife sees he franchise returning to its roots, after Paul Feig's 2016 reboot of the series, which starred an all-female cast including Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig. I spent summers much like many other young people in the '80s watching it every day. I used to have one of those toys when I was a kid and I can't even remember the name of it, which is probably why men who love Ghostbusters are always so mad at me.

The title of 2020's Ghostbusters revival has been revealed as Ghostbusters: Afterlife, with Vanity Fair offering up the first plot details and images from the film.
