Carl Frampton is targeting a super-featherweight world title fight against WBO junior-lightweight champion Jamel Herring following his unanimous points win over Tyler McCreary in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The Northern Irish fighter proved too much for the 26-year-old American as his cruised towards a points decision victory in the Cosmopolitan Casino of Las Vegas. The former two-weight world champion had been due to face Emmanuel Dominguez in August but fractured his metacarpal after a large concrete ornament in a hotel lobby fell on his left hand.

Tyler McCreary managed to see out the 10 rounds as Frampton took a decisive 100-88 scorecard.

"There is talk of facing Jamel Herring next for his WBO super-featherweight title, and that definitely interests me", Frampton explained. "The pressure is on as I know I have to beat him, and I'll perform well under pressure".

Frampton added that he would be equally happy to challenge in Belfast or NY against Herring, who has won 21 of his 23 fights.

"I just want to fight for a world title next; I want them big fights". I would love the opportunity to fight Jamel.

"I'm not the champion, he's the champion". If it doesn't and I have to go NY I'm keen for that. I'm preparing for a tough fight, and like I said I'm not taking my eye off the ball.
