Apple reveals its best apps and games of 2019

Apple today published its picks for the best media in 2019 across its various platforms and services.

iPhone App of the Year went to Spectre Camera, a photography app that uses AI software to create long-exposure shots.

In terms of games, the iPhone game of the year 2019 goes to the great Sky: Children of the Light, the latest from the developer of the fantastic PlayStation title Journey. From the makers of the popular console, and later iOS, game Journey, Sky is a social adventure game that shares a similar aesthetic with Journey.

Digital notebook app Flow by Moleskine was the top iPad app, while Serif Labs' Affinity Publisher publishing and design app took top honours for Mac.

Gris and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap snagged Mac and Apple TV game of the year awards respectively.

Additionally, "Sayonara Wild Hearts", developed by Simogo and published by Annapurna Interactive bagged the Apple Arcade Game of the Year.

It wasn't just about apps and as the Cupertino-based tech giant also revealed which were the best games of the year.
