The two stars, Taylor Swift and Andrew Lloyd Webber, came together for British Vogue and spoke about Cats, her album Lover and if she would ever consider acting.

Taylor Swift is riding high with her singing career but it looks like the vocal powerhouse is getting ready to make waves with her acting prowess in the film Cats as well. The duo, who co-wrote a new song "Beautiful Ghosts" for the movie, discussed the importance of songwriting. "So a lot of that album is almost whole takes".

"I think [writing] is really important - also from the side of ownership over what you do and make", Swift said. "Even if you aren't a natural writer, you should try to involve yourself in the messages you're sending". It's composed by legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and based on the 1939 poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot.

In a conversation with Andrew, Taylor explained: 'I was really singing a lot at that point - I'd just come from a tour, and then did Cats, which was all based on live performances - so a lot of that album is almost whole takes.

On her Cats co-star Judi Dench: "She's lovely".

In case you missed it, the 29-year-old pop superstar was honored as the Artist of the Decade during the AMAs and performed a medley of her hit songs but before taking the stage, Swift was continually dealing with the battle over the rights to her music. "When I was younger, I used to get questions like, "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?' I'd try to answer". As I get older, I'm learning that wisdom is learning how dumb you are compared to how much you are going to know. So, it was easier for her to do it all in one go.

In October, she gave fans an inside look at the creative process behind the song in a Cats featurette that was released by Universal Pictures. I think I loved the weirdness of it. "Seeing her perform this time was quite an emotional thing for me, because it was a very, very sad day when she had to leave the original show". British Vogue shared an excerpt on Sunday, before the issue arrives on newsstands December 6.
