According to a recent report from The Verge, Microsoft has already started testing the integration with some users. Gmail is one of the most popular email services out there, and it will be interesting to see if Microsoft could add integrations with other email and cloud storage services going forward. Currently, Outlook offers a limited option for users to import or sync their Gmail account.

A user on Twitter has stumbled onto a new and as-yet-unannounced feature for Outlook.com: The ability to add a Gmail account and access it separately from the Outlook.com and without importing messages. We're not seeing this on our Outlook.com emails accounts yet, so this could be a gradual rollout. This is similar to how the Outlook.com app keeps different email accounts separated into their own respective inboxes. However, this is now limited to Gmail, meaning that you won't be able to add any other email service other than Gmail to Outlook.com. The feature wasn't live for us at the time of writing, by Florian reveals that the integration seems to be an early test as it doesn't allow you to add more than one Google account. We'll update this post when and if Microsoft makes this feature official.
