Carmelo Anthony maintained an optimistic outlook despite tasting defeat on his Trail Blazers debut on Tuesday.

Lillard is sidelined with back spasms, which he has been experiencing since playing the Toronto Raptors last Wednesday (last Thursday, PHL time).

"It felt great just to be back into the flow of the game, be back on the court, be back to where I think I belong", Anthony said.

"Just being back out there with the guys again".

Just after joining the Trail Blazers, Anthony was in the starting lineup as it was reported he was scheduled to play about 20 minutes or so in his first game. "As far as the game goes, it felt good to be back out there". Including the game against the Raptors, Lillard has shot 10-for-46 (4-for-22 from 3-point) over his last three games. In 34:33, he scored 21 points and added seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.

According to reports, Anthony's one-year, non-guaranteed contract is worth up to US$2.15 million (S$2.9 million). It is not yet clear whether he will play in Portland's game against the Pelicans on Tuesday night.

The Blazers granted Anthony's request to return to the league in uniform number No. 00.

The 35-year-old is set to make his debut with the team on Tuesday, as the Blazers face the New Orleans Pelicans in the back portion of a back-to-back, following a 24-point loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday.
