Meghan Markle addresses tabloid rumors in court documents

It is no secret that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are having a little trouble rehabilitating their image after their recent public debacles, including revelations in an explosive documentary.

In court papers the Duchess accuses The Mail newspapers of a three-year campaign against her, listing an extensive list of "false" and "absurd" stories. The published pieces mentioned that Meghan and Prince Harry had a £5,000 (Approx Rs 4 Lakh) copper bathtub installed, spent £500,000 on soundproofing their Windsor home, built a yoga studio, an orangery and a tennis court, and added a new wing to their house, all with the help of the tax payers money.

Instead, they are expected to head to America, where they will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.

However, according to a new report from Byline Investigates, the Duchess hits out at the publication for printing the heavily redacted, private note in papers submitted by Schillings solicitors, writing: "The omitted or suppressed parts of the letter amount to nearly half of the actual contents".

Per People, the documents say Markle reached out to her dad before the wedding in order to "protect him, as well as to ensure that he would be able to come".

In their new court filing, Meghan and her team have rubbished these reports and claimed that all of the aforementioned items don't "exist" and are "completely untrue". Guests, including Amal Clooney, Gayle King, and Serena Williams, were joined by lifelong friends of Meghan's.

"The baby shower (which actually cost a tiny fraction of the $300k falsely stated in the article) was organized and hosted by one of her best friends from university".

Meghan is also fighting the claim that she didn't invite her mother to the event.

As for rumors that Markle didn't invite her mother to her NY baby shower: "The claimant's mother was of course invited, and the claimant also offered to buy her airline tickets".

"Stories she will argue were fabricated will reportedly include one that described her as being "(almost) straight outta Compton", another suggesting her former private secretary walked out because she was "difficult" to work with and another suggesting she "deliberately" left her mother out of her baby shower and "ditched" her for her celebrity friends. "That is what this complaint is about, that Thomas Markle gave a private letter to the Mail on Sunday and one wonders if this really is the nail in the coffin as far as Meghan's relationship with her estranged father is concerned".
