Mark Walton Charged With Battery Of Pregnant Woman, Released By Miami

The Miami Dolphins have released a statement announcing that they have cut running back Mark Walton from the team this morning. Lauderdale - after cops say he pushed the woman against the wall Tuesday around 4:15 AM and punched her several times in the face and head.

To make the matter even worse, the pregnant woman was his girlfriend and he had just found out that he was to become a father this past Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins are done with Mark Walton.

Walton was reportedly arrested and charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant person.

Earlier this month the National Football League suspended Walton for four games for violating National Football League conduct and substance abuse policies. "We will have no further comment at this time". Walton's attorney, Michael Gottlieb, said in August that his client had his most significant charge of felony for carrying a concealed weapon from his March arrest reduced to a second-degree misdemeanor open-carry charge after pleading no contest.

Miami signed the 22-year-old in May after the Cincinnati Bengals released him over a series of arrests.

The NFL suspended Walton two weeks ago and he had been eligible to return December 2. Walton also had to attend driving school after the reckless-driving plea. He had a misdemeanor marijuana charge in that arrest dismissed.

In seven games with the Dolphins this season, Walton rushed 53 times for 201 yards, an average of 3.8 yards per carry.
