George was in the lineup Monday night against his former team, Oklahoma City, which traded him to the Clippers in the offseason.

Leonard, who missed 22 games as a member of the Toronto Raptors last season, will now have been sidelined for five of the Clippers' first 14 games in the 2019-20 season. McCollum had 25 points while Lillard had 13, shooting just 4 of 15 overall and 1 of 6 from three-point range.

Kawhi Leonard is missing his third straight game for the Los Angeles Clippers, again delaying his on-court pairing with new teammate Paul George.

The Clippers played a tribute video Monday for the two players it sent to OKC in July: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari. The Clippers responded by playing George off ball for a few possessions. On the perimeter, it sent out a second man to double team George.

Gallinari was initially ruled to have been fouled with 7.3 seconds remaining, but the call was overturned by the officials after the Clippers challenged it. Gallinari then failed to convert a jumper near the top of the key with four seconds left.

Both clubs struggled on offense, with the Clippers shooting 40.2 percent to 37.3 percent for the Thunder. Oklahoma City was hurt by nine turnovers to four for Los Angeles in the quarter. The visitors outscored the Clippers 30-19 in the second quarter.

George, like Michael Jordan in the 1992 NBA Finals, had just connected on his sixth 3-pointer, cementing his Staples Center debut as a Clipper as the greatest scoring performance in under 21 minutes in NBA history.
