It means that the Babar Azam-led Pakistan will bat first again, just like they had in the first two matches of the series.

The textbook front foot drive raced through the covers for four, but Starc responded in the best way possible with two wickets in two balls.

The third and final T20I between Australia and Pakistan will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Friday.

Starc was unable to claim the hat-trick, but the double strike left the hosts in a dominant position early on with Pakistan 2-15.

The Australians included Sean Abbott for his first global in five years, and also recalled Billy Stanlake at the expense of Adam Zampa in expectation of a bouncy pitch.

The match is Abbott's first T20 global in just under five years.

The match is scheduled to start at 1:30pm Pakistan Standard Time. The first match of the three-match series ended without a result after being rained out. Their places could be taken by Khushdil Shah, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hasnain and Muhammad Musa Khan.
