Amazon today announced that Disney+ - the upcoming streaming service from Disney that'll be home to everything from Star Wars to every Marvel movie to, of course, Disney fare - will be available on Amazon Fire TV devices on launch day, November 12.

During a BBC Breakfast segment unveiling the new Britbox streaming platform, broadcaster Charlie Stayt said that rival service Disney+ would be launching in the United Kingdom in March of next year.

Disney Plus is set to launch with the aforementioned Star Wars: The Mandalorian, The Lady and the Trap live action remake and a raft of original television shows, movies and gradually the entirety of Disney's movie and TV library - including all of the Disney Vault titles.

Currently, only five countries are confirmed to receive Disney+: the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.

This is not to say that Disney is not paying attention to the rest of Europe though. And that means when Disney+ does launch on November 12, it should be available on the Fire TV, with built-in Alexa integration.

Earlier this week, it was reported that French pay TV operator Canal+ is in advanced negotiations to become the exclusive distributor of Disney+ in France.

Disney, which will rival services including Apple TV+, Netflix, Amazon Prime and the upcoming Britbox, will feature many staples from its own back catalogue, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Pinocchio, Dumbo and Bambi. Disney Cinéma is already offered as part of Canal+'s Ciné/Séries pack.
