Kaun Banega Crorepati season 11 ran into a bit of a controversy, with most viewers demanding that the show be completely boycotted, reports India Today.

On Wednesday, host Amitabh Bachchan had asked a question to the hot seat contestant Shaheha Chandran, and its options did not go down well with a section of the public. The show grabbed the attention of netizens this time too, but not for any victor.

The Internet is offended once again, this time by an answer option on an episode of the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 11. KBC fans feel that while Aurangazeb was given due respect by addressing his as "emperor, ' Chatrapati Shivaji's name written as just "Shivaji" showed utter disregard to him".

Well, the reference has hurt the sentiments of the viewers for not respecting Shivaji Maharaj as the netizens started trending #Boycott_KBC_SonyTV. And this is the reason the apology was aired on Thursday's episode. The options were Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Shivaji.

FOllowing the outrage, Sony TV apologised for the incident on Twitter and tagged Amitabh Bachhan. The channel apologized and expressed honest regret for the inaccurate reference made due to inadvertence. While everything seems normal at the Malad office, the channel has now uploaded a video on its social media page apologising for its slip-up.

Issuing a warning, he said, If they delay it (apology) further, the show will not have any life line to continue further.
