In a career of landmarks, Roger Federer is set to play 1,500th match when he plays at 10th Basel title. The match will begin not before 7 pm onwards local time (6 pm BST) and you can find the Roger Federer v Peter Gojowczyk live streaming options along with its preview, head to head and tips here.

The 38-year-old has not captured his 102 tour-level titles by dwelling on his defeats.

Playing in his hometown, 20-times Grand Slam champion Federer barely broke sweat as he fired 12 aces and won 82% of his first service points, wrapping up the encounter against the hapless German qualifier in 53 minutes.

"Andy's achievement was great", Federer said after rolling through into the second round of the ATP Swiss Indoors in Basel.

"I've already practiced on Friday and Saturday in Basel. I hope to really start strong and have a great indoor season". Sometimes it's the opponent, sometimes it's your own mind or game that goes off the boil. The match was played earlier in the season at the Miami Masters where Roger Federer won in 3 sets. It was a determined effort by Albot as he lost the opening set but fought back extremely well to win the final 2 sets and the match. "But also I won much more than I should have or could have", Federer explained his outlook.

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Roger Federer, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Dominic Thiem have already qualified for the season-ending tournament in London, with Alexander Zverev and Berrettini occupying the last two available spots. It started well for me.

Meanwhile, Federer took some time out of his preparation for Swiss Indoors, to congratulate the newly married Nadal.

Explaining that he was not part of the festivities, the father of four said: "I was not invited by Rafa, but I had not expected to be".
