Jets take on the Patriots at MetLife Stadium on PIX11

He threw one early, then another one soon after to Patriots safety Duron Harmon. It doesn't look like weather is going to be an issue this evening in North Jersey, with a forecast that looks to be ideal for late-October football. However, Darnold is wearing a mic for tonight's ESPN broadcast, and some of his comments have been quite revealing, none more so than what he said after his second INT.

New England opened the week as a double-digit underdog, and despite some talk around here this week that this Jets' team has the capability to keep things close, the oddsmakers see it differently. Reviewing his play on the sideline after the miscue, Darnold was caught admitting he's "seeing ghosts".

It did not get much better for Sam Darnold and the Jets from that point on. Clearly, Darnold doesn't trust his protection, his reads or a combination of both.

The ball was returned 38 yards by Kyle Van Noy for what appeared to be a touchdown. However, tonight does not seem like it will be his night at all.

Darnold was the AFC offensive player of the week after leading NY to a 24-22 win over Dallas last Sunday in his return from missing three games with mononucleosis.

Monday Night Football games have been compelling for the most part this year, but the Patriots-Jets game at MetLife Stadium was anything but.
