The Younger star recently revealed that she screened "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" for Luca and his little sister, 11-month-old Banks, and during an August interview with ET, she said Luca was a bit of a Lizzie fan. The reboot will follow a 30-year-old McGuire as she works as a fashion apprentice and navigates life as an adult through New York City.

The original series ran from 2001-04 and followed 13-year-old Lizzie, who dreamt of being popular in school, as her animated alter ego represented her true feelings.

Duff, on hearing the news, said: "I have said this before, but for me coming back when she's 30 and she's not in a marriage and she's not having a baby and she's not doing all the things that I have already done in my life, that story is really exciting for me".
