Rafael Nadal and Xisca Perello got married on Saturday in front of more than 300 guests but those who attended were reminded the couple wanted the celebration to be an intimate occasion.

However Federer - tennis' own version of royalty - wasn't there.

Juan Carlos I, the king of Spain from 1975 to 2014, was believed to be among those in attendance while the Michelin-star chef, Quique Dacosta, was reportedly in charge of catering.

Though Rafael Nadal has given away no details publicly, HOLA!

Mery Perello was at the US Open in August to see partner Rafael Nadal win his 19th career grand slam title.

"I was not invited and I did not expect it", Federer said on Sunday.

"I do not know anything about it".

The guests at the private ceremony at the La Fortaleza fortress in the northern part of Mallorca arrived discreetly and could mostly only be seen through the windows of their vehicles.

While a lot of Nadal's friends from the world of tennis were present at the ceremony, his arch-rival and friend Roger Federer wasn't a part of it.

Amidst their family and friends will be Nadal's coach Carlos Moya, doubles player Marc Lopez, Fernado Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez.

Rosa Clara was the designer of Perello's wedding dress, while Nadal chose the Italian Brunello Cucinelli for such an important day.

Twelve of those major titles have come at the French Open, tennis' biggest clay- court event, where Nadal has a mind-boggling 93-2 record dating back to 2005. Nadal previously won the U.S. Open three times, most recently in 2017.
