Kanye West Nearly Quit Rap Because It Is 'The Devil's Music'

Kanye West is widely reported to have been going through an eye-opening religious experience, casually trying his hand at Gospel preaching on Sundays. Having been "delivered", he's married his rapping talent to a conventional church service, arguably on his pastor's advice.

Following a passage from the Bible (Mark 1:15), West states in a voice over, "I'm an evangelist, so my music, my films, every conversation, every room I go in, we're here to save souls, save you from eternal damnation". "You can rap for God". You can rap for God.' I think he was already thinking about it a little bit, but I definitely said, 'Hey, bro.

"The guilt of sin brought him down low", Tyson would say of West's testimony.

It was last week that Kanye confirmed that he recently committed to Christianity while at a Jesus Is King event for the forthcoming effort.

Jesus Is King will feature 13 gospel songs arranged by West and performed by his Sunday Service choir, as well as new music from his upcoming album of the same title.

Yeezus himself has found a renewed spirituality. While the album still has yet to be released after a few delays, it now may be coming this Friday, paired with an IMAX film of the same name.
