Nick Schmaltz knew the Arizona Coyotes' power play was going to finally click.

In front of a Bell MTS Place crowd just shy of full-capacity, the Jets lost 4-2 to the Arizona Coyotes.

The Winnipeg Jets returned to Canada in 2011, and Tuesday, they reportedly had their first non-sellout since the move.

Kyle Connor also scored for Winnipeg, and Josh Morrissey had a pair of assists. "We were going in the right direction". "And I think I'll provide a good defensive game, a good offensive game and just work hard all over the ice". Matthew Barzal and Brock Nelson had good games for the New York Islanders as they contributed 1 goal and 1 assist each while Michael Dal Colle and Johnny Boychuck contributed 1 assist. The Jets starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck struggled in the crease as he recorded 31 saves which pushed his season save percentage to.919 and GAA to 2.82.

Head coach Paul Maurice said Gustafsson is unusual in that his defensive game was already at a good level when he arrived.

He also saw weaknesses in his team's penalty kill rather than strength in Arizona's power play.

Mark Scheifele had a goal and an assist and extended his point streak to five games with his team-leading fourth goal of the season for Winnipeg. Comrie, who was claimed by the Coyotes on waivers earlier this month, is Arizona's third-string goalie.

With Coyotes forward Derek Stepan off for hooking, Patrik Laine blasted a shot that hit the post and Scheifele sent the rebound past Kuemper at 7:35 of the first.

Garland deflected a shot from the point by Ekman-Larrson with eight seconds remaining in the opening period to tie it.

It's a 2 a.m. puck drop in Sweden but the Gustafsson household in Tingsryd, about 500 kilometres south of Stockholm, will be wide awake."I got the call this morning, so they don't have time to come here, but I've called them and everything, so they'll probably stay up watching", he said, following the morning skate.

Dvorak added a second marker when he patiently roofed a shot to beat Hellebuyck glove side to end a two-on-one at 17:47 of the second to make it 4-1. In the second period, the Jets were outshot 15-14 and outscored 3-0 to trail 4-1 after 40 minutes of play.
