With Inter 2-1 ahead and forward Romelu Lukaku waiting to take a penalty in the 43rd minute, the game was halted as a man landed on the pitch, leaving players, fans and officials stunned.

After goals at either end in the opening 16 minutes, Lukaku struck twice to put Inter 3-1 up at half-time against Sassuolo and Lautaro Martínez added a fourth to ensure the hosts' late rally came to nothing. "Not yet an "AConte" team, neither tactically nor mentally".

Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi suggested that Inter are still not a "Conte team" just yet, after their worrying final 20 minutes in their 4-3 victory over Sassuolo today.

Filip Djuricic and Jeremie Boga scored for Sassuolo to set up a tense finale.

"We did everything right in the first half, should have scored more in the second".

"I'm feeling good but need to work even harder to help out the team for the entirety of matches".

Ultimately they moved onto 21 points from eight games played, one behind Serie A leaders Juventus, who beat Bologna on Saturday night thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Miralem Pjanic. "Now, I'll only think about improving still further".
