Saif Ali Khan starrer Lal Kaptaan made its box office debut yesterday.

Saif Ali Khan's movie Laal Kaptaan released in theatres today.

The film lost out to Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" which was released along with "Laal Kaptaan".

The occupancy in the evening shows went to around 60 to 80 per cent.

Directed by Navdeep Singh, Laal Kaptaan revolves around the character played by Saif Ali Khan as the terrible Naga Sadhu, a bounty hunter who seeks revenge. Also, the promotions of the film seemed a bit slower. As per critics, the film is let down by poor execution and screenplay. Audience liked the story and dialogues of the film. The punch to the gut you expected in the second half never comes and the thrill of the chase fades. The film has collected even lesser than the Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman starrer The Zoya Factor which minted Rs 70 Lakh on Day 1 of the Box-Office.

Earlier, actor Manav Vij who plays a pivotal role in the upcoming movie Laal Kaptaan, said the entire cast of the film has undergone voice modulation training for their characters.

In the meantime, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War is creeping towards Rs 300 crore. The experts feel that the first day would witness some amount of buzz in the media and thus boost up the collection on the first weekend crossing to 20 Crores and reaching somewhere to 25 Crores. The total collections of the film have crossed Rs 290 crore in all languages.

Sharing the global figures of the film, he wrote on Twitter, "War is racing towards ₹ 100 cr mark in the worldwide arena... Overseas."#War is racing towards ₹ cr mark in the worldwide arena...
