Three down: Eastbourne customers hit by mobile network problems

A spokesperson said: "Three is now experiencing technical difficulties with our services across voice, text and data which means that some customers will be experiencing an intermittent service".

Although we are yet to receive full confirmation, it is believed that phones on the Three network up and down the United Kingdom lost signal for a considerable amount of time.

Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, registered a peak of over 7,000 Three customers experiencing problems.

"Our engineers are working to fix the issue and the service is returning to normal, and we expect it to be resolved over the course of the day".

There's still no word on what is causing the outage which is affecting customers across large parts of the UK.

Downdetector has received 8,507 reports of problems, mainly from users in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Bradford and Sheffield.

As well as its mobile network, on Thursday morning Three's website was also unavailable, instead displaying a message which said it was down for "essential maintenance".

The company's website is also down now, with a message saying its "fleet of geeks" is doing essential maintenance work and it will be up and running again soon. When will it be back up and what compensation will we be receiving?
