We're still waiting to hear about the MRI results for Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes but there was more optimism in the early morning hours on Friday.

Mahomes' timetable for a return could extend to four-to-six weeks, a source told Dave Skretta of The Associated Press.

It's unclear whether any services will take place before Thursday night's game between the Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. The 5-2 Chiefs will play the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in the next two weeks, and will do so with veteran journeyman Matt Moore at the helm instead of Mahomes. He threw a 57-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill and completed 10 of 19 passes for 117 yards. "Hard to be a relief pitcher". He's done it before. There's a certain way to prep for that. It paid off for him.

Reid indicated that Moore would be the starter going forward, and that rookie Kyle Shurmur - the son of longtime National Football League coach Pat Shurmur - could be elevated from the practice squad as the backup. Once I get all the information, we will give you everything that kind of happened and what's going on here. the whole deal.

Henne is making progress and could be ready to come off injured reserve in Week 8.

"He is a pro and has done a nice job", Reid said Friday of Moore. The last thing you want to do is rush him back from this type of injury and potentially put his career on the line.
