Here's your first glimpse of that 16-inch MacBook Pro. Or not

As per current rumors and scattered info, the new 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to feature a 3,072 x 1920 pixel resolution on its 16-inch display and be powered by Intel's 9-th generation Coffee Lake processors. Now, here's your grain of salt.

A couple on interesting pictures have been unearthed by a French blog, buried inside the resource files of the first two macOS Catalina beta builds (10.15.1).

While the laptop pictured above doesn't look all that different from the current 15-inch MacBook Pro, MacGeneration notes that "if you take a closer look, you'll notice that the borders around the screen are slightly thinner". Are we indeed looking at the rendering of the mythical 16-inch MacBook Pro, or have we all been duped?

As a final point, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently issued an investor note claiming that the entirety of Apple's MacBook line will transition back to the scissor-style keyboard design in 2020.

So what are we to make of the MacGeneration report?

It has been rumored that Apple is planning to release a 16-inch MacBook Pro sometime this fall, but with no sign of an Apple event in sight, perhaps we've all started to go a bit loopy. Warwick wrote to end his piece, letting readers decide for themselves.
