It has barely been a week since OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7T Pro, but rumors of the OnePlus 8-series have already started flowing in.

The renders clearly show that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be sporting a punch-hole display instead of a notch or a pop-up module along with a quad-camera setup at the rear.

OnePlus typically announces its first flagships of the year in May but these early OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro leaks could mean the company is going to adopt a new strategy in 2020 that'll see the flagships arrive during the first quarter.

Nothing has been predicted yet in terms of release date for the OnePlus 8 series. The top bezel on the OnePlus 8 Pro also appears to be thicker than that of the vanilla 8.

According to 91Mobiles - the site that leaked the images (in collaboration with @OneLeaks) - this display will be 6.65-inches, compared to the 6.5-inch screen that's supposedly going to grace the front of the OnePlus 8.

The screens on both the 8 and 8 Pro will have a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone could be fueled by the upcoming Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset. The sensor is used to calculate distance and depth as well as help with 3D imaging and AR. Regardless, it'll be coupled with an LED flash and a laser autofocus system much like the one found on the OnePlus 7T Pro. It is safe to assume that the 8 Pro will not miss out on the action. You still have the alert slider and power button on the right. The entire package reportedly measures 165.3 x 74.4 x 8.8mm in size. The thickness increases to 10.8 mm along the lines of the camera bump.

Other than that, the remaining design elements remain largely unchanged. But as far as the design is concerned, the OnePlus 8 Pro looks to be a minor update with the punch-hole display, redesigned speaker grills, and a new ToF sensor. The 7T Pro now misses out on the 5G spectrum. After all, OnePlus has openly admitted that the lack of networks in developing markets such as India is still a big issue that push it to offer 5G as an optional upgrade. There is no word on software either. The OnePlus 7T Pro boasts a 4,085mAh cell so that ought to be the minimum OnePlus 8 Pro capacity. Share us your views by posting your comments below.
